An ordinary hero
The story of an ordinary citizen who, at the risk of his life, saved many lives at Crocus by disarming one of the terrorists.
One of the spectators who managed to take away a machine gun from a terrorist in Crocus: [You saw the terrorist who was not far from you. What was going on?] It turns out that three people went down the mezzanine, and the fourth person I saw came out just from downstairs. And I saw him near this partition. He had shot people in cold blood just before that. And I looked at my wife, and I saw the wild terror in her eyes, and I knew I had to do something. And the moment he got close to us, he started reloading his weapon. I had a second to think, and I pushed my wife, and I ran around him from the left, grabbed the machine gun with my left hand and pulled it down, and with my right hand I started hitting him on the head. He started to go down, I grabbed his neck with my left hand and continued to strike him with my right hand. And at that moment another man came running up to me and also gave me a couple of powerful blows. And we knocked him out.
[Do you realize that you saved dozens of people with your actions, do you feel that way?] Yes. I realized later, when we left, that besides me and my wife, a couple of hundred people were saved, probably.
The worst gift
21.12.2023 will be written in black letters in the history of our state. It is the day when a mass murderer killed many people, mostly students, at the University of Prague. People who may have been looking forward to the coming days off, when they could meet their families and enjoy time together. Their parents, their relatives, were looking forward to them too. I know of no greater pain than when a child, a young person, dies. I can't imagine how the parents and relatives of the victims feel.
I have no words of apology or understanding for this vile and barbaric act of a murderer. How do the parents and relatives of the murderer feel?
My condolences to all the bereaved of the victims.

Protestation, this isn't place for you...
Dear Protestation account owner,
I'am open to host personal accounts of free peoples, who want's to share their ideas, experience or opinions.
But I'am not willing to provide my personal resources to anyone, who's promoting ideology of communism, collectivism or any other ideology.
The reason, why I'am not willing to provide space for this or any other *ism is, that first 18 years om my live I spent in socialistic country. Then, in 90's I spent a short time in more free society. Unfortunately, since new millenium, the communism is returning back in Europe. This time from west. We already are in situation, that life quality nowadays is worse than life quality in original Czechoslovakia, where I was born.
Promoting this ideology you are serving to cheaters, thieves, mass murderrers.
Thus, I am going to cut off Protestation account from my server.

On March 15 was the anniversary of German occupation of Czechoslovakia. The silence in media was deafing.

Aerial view on Rhodos "in fire"
Mainstream massmedia say "Rhodos is in fire because of klima". But is it really true?
That is really disgrace, that many european countries do the same mistake as on beginning of previous century.
We are on the bad side, again.

One was called "Prosperity", where every player won money anytime another gained a property. And the game was won by everyone playing only when the person with the least doubled their resources. A game of collaboration and social good.
The second set of rules was called "Monopoly", where players succeeded by taking properties and rent from those with less luck rolling the dice. The winner was the person who used their power to eliminate everyone else.
Magie's mission was to teach us how different we feel when playing Prosperity vs Monopoly, hoping that it would one day change national policies.
When the Parker Bros adopted the game, they erased the "Prosperity" rules and celebrated "Monopoly".

Internet privacy (does not exist)
Several years ago I was excited about new technologies presented and implemented by Google. I tried nearly all publicly available application or service. Also, I was very positively surprised by first Google Android cellphone I have got in to my possession back in 2010.
However, my first smartphone was HTC TyTN which runs on Windows Mobile. This exact machine was required by company I worked for, because their specific application was able to work only with Windows Mobile environment. After I quit that job, I bought my first Android phone HTC Hero. It was astonishing to see and feel (because there was amazing trackball), how easy it is to control that gadget. And that amazing display!
At that time, slowly but unstoppably, mobile internet connection get more and more affordable. So, when I unlocked this gate for myself it was so exciting. I was really able to use all Google services everywhere (well yeah, at least where the signal was available). It was hell amazing, really WOW.
A few years past by. I learned some more information. I learned something more about how online world work. I become afraid about my personal data. Is it really necessary for Google and Facebook to know everything about me? Is it really beneficial for me to share my life with world and especially with all contacts, events, e-mails shared with those companies? Finally, I said NO. And I started to search alternatives. It was really tough time to search over internet with my english language skills I had that time. But, finally, I found several interresting projects as for example Syncthing, ownCloud and some more. Syncthing was simple and easy to use, so I installed it to my NAS to be able easily synchronise files among my computer, laptop, cellphone and NAS. But it did not solve contacts and calendar sync. OwnCloud could do that, but I did not want to have my computer still running. Cost of consumed electricity and constant noise of running computer made me not satisfied with that solution. Some more time past by and I found Nextcloud server, which looked very usefull for my needs. Moreover, I explored Raspberry device at the same time. Both events made me think about running my own, big tech company independent solution again. Nextcloud running on Raspberry device was not really fast, but it was just beginning. It was cheap, locally running solution. It means, I could sync all of my devices over my local network environment. It was an amazing leap in right direction. After some time I exposed my Nextcloud / Raspberry server to the Internet. For me it was another big step to improve my IT skills. Very soon I learned, that the Raspberry model I used would not be powerfull enough for my needs. Luckily, nowadays, technologies moved on, devices are powerfull enough and not consuming so much electricity as years ago. A passive cooling make computer quiet and that is another bonus.
So, today it is about 6 years, my personal / family Nextcloud server is connected on public IP and everything seems to be working well. I hope it will sustain like this...
At the end I would like to say Thank You Nextcloud! It is amazing environment. Keep it going!
